KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — All lanes of Interstate 85 are closed in Kannapolis following a fatal crash, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation. Kannapolis Fire responded to the serious wreck on I-85 near Brantley Road. According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol and Kannapolis Fire Department, two people died and multiple people were injured. Their identities are not being released at this time until their families have been notified. The closure begins at the exit for Old Beatty Ford Road near China Grove in Rowan County.
