A real estate investment firm based in the Northeast has made a significant investment to grow its North Carolina portfolio. West Shore, which is based in Boston, has purchased hundreds of apartments in Waxhaw and Kannapolis in recent weeks and months. It acquired the 312-unit The Vive at Kellswater in Kannapolis and two apartment communities in Waxhaw totaling 309 units. Real estate records in Cabarrus and Union counties show West Shore paid about $180 million total for the assets. West Shore bought The Mill on Main in Waxhaw for $18 million.
